Well If I am terminally ill.... I will do all I can to help everyone who deserves help. Meditate, Then ... that's it
I wonder that the question could not be asked differently, such as: If you were told you had a terminal illness, what would you do with that information? I am fascinated by those who have simply ignored it and lived a half a century more. An Ojibwe woman up north was given a terminal prognosis and she swears upon oath that she allowed the Sirius Star to slay the prognosis and lives on to tell the tale. In contrast, my sister was spotted of a dark patch on her lung that her physician warned must be observed carefully. She shrugged and said, no thanks, the cure is worse than the disease should it manifest, and goes about her life as before. The GrandFather refused any medical attention throughout his life in fear of hearing any such prognosis and he lived well into his 90's. In contrast, my Friend's mother's best Friend since childhood had always, since that childhood, suffered periodically with a side ache. At the age of 74, she inquired on a side note to her physician about her side ache, and was told she had terminal cancer. She was dead within half a year. My Friend's mother said it was a case of never going to a physician unless one was seriously ill in the moment because if you believe what they tell you, you will play out their prophecy, even if it isn't true. Perhaps Voodun works like that, sometimes.
Perhaps one's philosophy must be stronger than one's threat of disruption. Perhaps it is all a matter of perspective. I don't know.
@madmorrigan - my aunt made a pact with buddah if she lived past all the cancer she go see him.......she lives past it so far without any signs of a return......so yes i think you are right....about having a philosophy or anything really stronger to hold on to then the illness....i picked my answer based on a joke ui heard once...and it made so much sense i figured hell why not if i am going to die anyway...why not see why people are so hooked
Thanks for answering the question submitted by me.
